Janani woke up to the sound of her alarm.
The day of her reunion with Faran had finally arrived. Both of them were ecstatic about meeting each other again after so long. They couldn’t wait any longer.

Faran borrowed his friend’s bike to ride to the mall, while Janani got ready, admiring herself in the mirror one last time. She noticed a radiant glow on her face, a brightness that had been absent for a while. Elated, she rushed to the taxi station.

As they both made their way to the mall, they reminisced about old times. Janani recalled the promise she had made to Faran years ago – to call him every day, no matter where life took her. However, fate had other plans, and she was unable to keep that promise.

Faran, too, remembered his own promise – to always return to her, no matter where life took him. Though they had both failed to keep their promises, they saw this reunion as an opportunity to make new ones.

Janani arrived at the mall first and waited for Faran at a restaurant. Meanwhile, Faran parked his bike near the mall and stumbled upon an old woman selling beautiful rose flowers. He decided to buy some for Janani, and as he crossed the road, the old woman blessed him.

Janani, nervous and excited, waited for Faran. She noticed a young couple sitting next to her, wearing Ronaldo and Messi jerseys, which brought back fond memories of her time with Faran.

As she waited, Janani arranged a surprise for Faran with the help of the waiter – a happy birthday card, since Faran had forgotten his own birthday.

However, as the hours ticked by, Faran failed to appear. Janani tried calling him, but his phone was switched off. She waited for 2.5 hours, her heart heavy with sadness.

With a broken heart and tearful eyes, Janani decided to leave. As she exited the mall and entered a taxi, she noticed rose flowers on the road, covered in blood. Her heart sank.

Years went by, but Janani never forgot Faran. Every year on his birthday, she would return to the mall, waiting for him with a happy birthday card, holding onto the hope that one day, they would reunite.

“She came to whisper ‘I love you’ in his ear.
She came to give him everything she had.
She came with love that had always wished for their hearts to be one.
She came to make him hers, to hold him close and never let go.
She came to see his eyes, to gaze into their depths and their future.
But she’s late; his eyes are already closed forever.
